I did a bit. I think it helped reinforce what I was saying. It gave a backbone to my passion. It allowed what I was saying to become ambition with a deep seated purpose. I would definitely recommend keeping any personal back story on a detail specific level and not letting it over run you. Present it in a way that says, this is what happened, this is what it did for me. Analyze it for them.
It may not work in all situations or with all interviewers. Get a feel of your interviewer before jumping into something like that. You'll know if they'll find it appropriate.

Best of luck!

Sounds like you got em! You're gonna do great Monica, I'm glad you're running to your full potential.

So do you recommend giving the life story spiel for an interview for an academic program? Its the only way I think I can let them know why I wanna be in music therapy.

Talk to ya soon!

Love,
-Camille

Haha, that photo of your packing looks exactly like my room. I love reading everyone elses blogs, it makes me feel that i'm not alone in all this. I'm convinced i'm going to have to sit on my suitcase to make it shut.

Yeah. I'm honestly not sure if she even noticed my visa. All she did was ask me how long I'm here for, and why. When do you get in?
